DEMETRA Holding is committed to protecting the personal data entrusted to it. Therefore, data management and security are guaranteed with the utmost care, in accordance with the requirements of the data protection legislation (EU Regulation 679/2016).

2. TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED

Among the personal data collected by the Demetraholding.com website, either independently or through third parties, are: usage data; cookies; contact data. Full details of each type of data collected are provided in the relevant sections of this privacy policy or by means of specific information texts displayed before the data is collected. Personal data may be freely provided by the user or, in the case of usage data, automatically collected during the use of this application. If the user refuses to communicate them, it may be impossible for this application to provide the service. In cases where this application indicates certain data as optional, users are free to refrain from communicating such data, without this having any consequence on the availability of the service or its operation. Users who are in any doubt as to which data is mandatory are encouraged to contact the controller. Any use of cookies – or other tracking tools – by this application or by the owners of third party services used by this application, unless otherwise specified, is for the purpose of providing the service requested by the user, in addition to the further purposes described in this document and in the cookie policy, if available. The user assumes responsibility for the personal data of third parties obtained, published or shared through this application and guarantees that he or she has the right to communicate or disseminate them, releasing the controller from any liability towards third parties.

3. PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASIS OF THE TREATMENT

DEMETRA Holding will use your personal data for the purpose of sending you the Newsletter and updates on new publications, opinions and research, invitations to promotional events and trade fairs, replies to requests submitted via the form, registration on the site, access to the Academy area.

The processing will be carried out on the basis of the user’s consent, as set down in Article 6 c.1 lett. a) of the GDPR.

The giving of data is optional, in the form of an expression of your interest, but refusal to provide the data involves the impossibility of obtaining the newsletter service, the Academy service, registering to the reserved area of the site and contacting you in pursuance of your request.

We will not use your personal data for purposes other than those described in this policy, unless we inform you in advance and, where necessary, obtain your further consent.

4. DATA RETENTION

The data is processed and stored for the time required for the purposes for which they were collected.
Therefore:

  • Personal data collected for purposes related to the performance of a contract between the controller and the user shall be retained until the duration of the contract is completed and by administrative request for 10 years following the conclusion of the contract and payment of the invoice.
  • Personal data collected for purposes connected by consent with collection for newsletters will be retained up to when the stated purpose is completed. The user can obtain further information on the legitimate interest pursued by the controller in the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the controller.

Where processing is based on the user’s consent, the controller may keep the personal data for longer until such consent is withdrawn. In addition, the controller may be compelled to retain personal data for a longer period in compliance with a legal obligation or by order of an authority. At the end of the retention period, personal data will be deleted. Therefore, once this period has expired, the right of access, cancellation, rectification and the right to data portability can no longer be exercised.

5. DATA TRANSFER

The data is processed at the operational headquarters of the controller and in any other place where the parties involved in the processing are located. 6. USER RIGHTS

Users can exercise certain rights with regard to the data processed by the controller.
In particular, the user has the right to:

  • withdraw consent at any time. The user may revoke his/her consent to the processing of his or her personal data previously given.
  • oppose the processing of their data. The user may object to the processing of his/her data if it is done on a legal basis other than consent. Further details on the right to object are given in the section below.
  • access his/her data. The user has the right to obtain information on the data processed by the controller, on certain aspects of the processing and to receive a copy of the processed data.
  • verify and request rectification. Users can check the accuracy of their data and request that it be updated or corrected.
  • obtain limitation of processing. If certain conditions are met, the user may request that the processing of his/her data be restricted. In this case, the controller will not process the data for any purpose other than their storage.
  • obtain deletion or removal of his/her personal data. If certain conditions occur, the user may request that his data be deleted by the data controller.
  • receive their data or have them transferred to another data controller. The user has the right to receive his/her data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, to have it transferred without hindrance to another data controller. This provision is applicable when the data are processed by automated means and the processing is based on the user’s consent, on a contract to which the user is a party or on contractual measures relating to the contract.
  • lodge a complaint. The user may lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority or take legal action.

We will handle your request with the utmost commitment to ensuring the effective exercising of the user’s rights. In addition, the user will have the right to lodge a complaint with the national supervisory authority (Privacy Guarantor).
How to exercise the user’s rights:
In order to exercise their rights, users may address a request to the contact details of the controller indicated in this document. Requests are filed free of charge and processed by the controller as soon as possible, in any case within one month by writing to privacy@ demetraholding.com .

7. WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT

The user may revoke his/her consent at any time without, however, being able to do the following:

  • affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before revocation;
  • affect further processing of the same data based on other legal grounds (e.g. contractual or legal obligations to which DEMETRA Holding is subject).
